So it begins. An email here. An email there. Who would have thought a wanna-be competitive runner girl would meet an ultra-marathon guy and fall in love? As they say, something good happens every day. In our case, something ‘best’.
“In the beginning was the Internet.” Ok, not really. But our beginning began there. Then a coffee-and-perusal-of-record-shop date. some time on The Plaza - sure to grow from there. A few struggles here and there. Some significant. Some little. A lot of compassion and understanding and patience while God’s hand continued to shape the girl, Teresa and the boy, Paul. Soon to be found: a spiritual community where we could grow together, and separately. Again, a perfect fit. Both what 'we' needed and each needed. And all this time, God is molding and shaping. “I am the Potter, you are the clay...” Fast-forward. Tour of Missouri, 2009. What excitement for us! Time to support healthy living and lifestyle in our own backyard. Little did the girl, Teresa, know that the boy, Paul, would whisper his heart into her ear and bend his knee to ask for her hand. (waiting... waiting... heart in throat...) Yes, yes, yes! And so 27 November 09 will come and there will be yet another beginning to begin. The gift of a lifetime to honor one another through Him. |
